The transition from industrial economy to the knowledge-based economy calls for a new look on the Weberian analysis of the dominant national culture in his sociological analysis of religions centering on the Protestant Ethics in the countries surrounding the North Atlantic Ocean. The spectacular economic boom of the NICs countries in 1960`s through mid 1990`s in a way discouraged the Weberian approach of the dominant national culture. The reason can be found in the advocacy the Asian culture as the authoritarian, centralized, specialized, standardized bureaucracy had not been unfavorable to the high stack industry.<BR> The fast approaching knowledge-based economy requires more flexible specialization, less compartmentalization and less hierarchical or organic type of organization with more autonomous knowledge workers as the key actors if the key actors of the industrial economy were the manual workers. The transition from the mechanical type to organic type of organization.<BR> The key note of the Korean culture is postulated to be the excessive power oriented behavior due to the history of the Confucian Court examination practised by the Koryo and Yi dynasties in the past 1,000 years. Authoritarianism, nepotism and crony capitalism are the off spring of the key cultural dynamism. Numerous research works were extensively surveyed in this paper.
