지역주민의 정주의식에 미치는 영향요인 분석

본 연구는 경기북부 지역주민들의 정주의식에 미치는 영향요인을 밝히는데 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구목적에 따라 경기북부 주민의식조사를 토대로 물리적 환경, 사회자본, 지방정부 역할, 개인의 사회경제적 배경 등의 요인들이 이 지역 주민들의 정주의식에 어떻게 영향을 미치는지를 분석하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 정주의식에 모두 영향을 미치며, 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변수는 지역애착에는 신뢰였고, 영주의지에는 지역경제였다. 둘째, 물리적 환경의 교통편의, 교육여건, 지역경제, 생태환경은 정주의식에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 반면 생활환경과 지역안전은 정주의식 향상에 아무런 영향을 미치지 못하고 있었다. 셋째, 신뢰와 규범 그리고 지역주민 간 협력을 포함한 사회자본이 정주의식 향상에 매우 큰 영향을 미치고 있었다. 넷째, 지방정부 역할이 정주의식 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있었다. 다섯째, 지역주민의 사회ㆍ경제적 배경에 있어서는 연령이 높고, 소득이 많으며, 주택을 소유한 남성일수록 거주지역에 정주하려는 경향이 있는 반면, 학력이 높은 사람일수록 거주지역을 떠나려는 경향을 보였다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 본 연구에서는 지역주민의 정주의식을 향상시킬 수 있는 방안 및 정책적 함의에 대해 논의 하였다.

This study aims to find the factors to affect the settlement consciousness of inhabitants of northern areas of Kyonggi province. For the purpose of this study, a number of factors were analyzed including physical circumstance, social capital, role of local government, socio-economic status which are deemed to affect the settlement consciousness. Data are obtained from 1.727 survey responses from inhabitants of 6 cities and 4 counties in North Kyonggi province. The major findings of this study are as followings. First, trust as a factor of social capital and local economy as one of physical circumstance factors affect powerfully the settlement consciousness of inhabitants. Second, transportation, education, local economy, environment affect positively the settlement consciousness of inhabitants. However, living circumstance and local safety have no effect on the settlement consciousness of inhabitants. Third, social capital and role of local government have positive effect on the settlement consciousness of inhabitants. Fourth, male, older people, people of low educational background level. upper income earner, home owner show higher settlement consciousness than female, people of high educational background level, lower income earner, homeless residents. Overall, this paper discusses how to improve settlement consciousness of inhabitants and suggests research implications for further study.
