In the early 20th Century, the School of Wang Yangming in Korea was classified two streams. One followed Park, Eunshik who advocated it as the new system for the renovation of the Confucianism. The other followed Jung, Inbo who succeeded to the School of KangHwa.
The most important features in this period was not only to seek the way of social reform through the School of Wang Yangming, but also to try to express it as the religious conviction. For example, Daedonggyo which was organized by Park, Eunshik had two bases: the religious movement and the reformative idea of the Confucianism.
Although the school of Wang Yangming in those days was not successful, it had the significance in that it was the new possibilities of both the social and the Confucian reform.
It was the concern of the School of Wang Yangming in those days that overcomes moral corruption of Confucian intellectuals. And their works were not ideological but practical.
But, actually, the School of Wang Yangming did not reform the Korean society. And what is worse is that the conviction of the School of Wang Yangming disappeared with the decline of the Confucianism.
