Nowaday society has transformed into more complicated framework with the development of the new media and technology in the 21 century. Surface`s expressivity has been changed with design trend and material development. The Purpose of this study is to analyze the tendency to concentrate on the surface in contemporary architecture and to prove its extended meaning and potentialities. By researching recognition and perception of the surface, the surface is revealed as a interface between interior and exterior. This study explored the surfaces with categorizing and comparing them in varous views and methods.
