〈왕시봉전〉ㆍ〈王十朋奇遇記〉ㆍ〈荊釵記〉의 비교 연구 - 삼자의 비교를 통한 삼관관계 규명 작업을 중심으로

The findings of this study are as follows:<BR> First, comparing 〈Wangshibongjeon〉 and 〈Wangshippoongkioogi〉 with their original 〈Hyungchagi〉, the author found out that the three works agree with little variation on the overall plot and the main characters. However, there are several important differences: generic difference, stylistic difference, the amount of the work, the complexity of plot development and characters, the view of the relationship between Wangshibong and Sonyeogwon, and finally the name of the place to which Wangshibong was commissioned before he had encountered Okreon. This suggests that 〈Wangshibongjeon〉 and 〈Wangshippoongkioogi〉 should fall into the line of the old-version 〈Hyungchagi〉, yet with special relationships between the three.<BR> Second, differences are also found between 〈Wangshibangjeon〉 and 〈Wangshippoongkioogi〉. The two works differ in the names of main characters, names of places. the existence of Jeonokreon`s step-mother, the character who forced the hero to marry Sonyeogwon, the existence of help from the father-in-law(Jeongong) when the hero set out to take the official exam, the existence of manipulation by the prime minister. the official title that was first assigned to the hero, whether the hero` 5 mother came to the capital after the drowning of Jeonokreon, the name of the place where Wangshibong and Jeonokreon had a sacrificial warship, the existence of good-guy-bad-guy fate to the step-mother, etc.<BR> Third, based on the comparisons between 〈Wangshibongjeon〉 and 〈Wangshippoongkioogi〉 and 〈Hyungchagi〉, the author tried to determine their mutual relationship but realized that, if we accept the existing hypotheses, there are some mysteries yet to be solved. With this in mind., the author assumed that the source of the variants would not have been a written work, as has been known so far, but an oral work, which turned out a powerful breakthrough. A new hypothesis is that from the many oral transmissions of the old-version 〈Hyungchagi〉, 〈Wangshibongjeon〉 settled down as a Korean version while 〈Wangshippoongkioogi〉 was established as a Chinese version.
