수량범주의 표현은 모든 언어에서 나타나는 보편적인 현상이나 그 구체적인 표현 단위나 형식에 있어서는 개별 언어의 특성에 따라 상이하게 실현된다. 한국어의 경우 수량범주의 표현은 형태소로부터 어휘, 구나 절에이르기까지 다양한 단위로 나타나며 게다가 수량을 표현하는 어휘들은 통사적으로 매우 다양한 범주에 걸쳐 나타나고 있다. 이런 수량범주를 기존의 한국어문법 연구에서는 문법 내에서 수사, 분류사, 수량사, 양화사 등으로 한정시켜 주로 통사론적으로 다루어 왔었는데 본고에서는 시각을 달리하여 의미적 범주의 차원에서 한국어의 수량범주의 특성 및 체계를 파악하고 그 표현 양상을 검토함으로써 한국어에서 수량범주는 양태범주, 공간범주, 시간범주 등과 같은 의미문법연구의 일환으로 자리매김할 수 있음을논의하였다. 우선, 수량의 개념을 비롯하여 수량범주의 개념을 정립하고 다음 수량범주의 특성을 밝히었으며 그다음 수량범주에 대하여, 3장에서 얻어진 특성을 바탕으로, 기본 분류를 비롯한 세부적인 분류를 시도하여 체계를 세웠다. 한편 이러한 체계가 문법연구에 있어서 가지는 의의를, 주로한국어 분류사의 분류체계를 재조명해 보는 것을 통하여 논의하였다. 마지막으로 한국어의 수량범주의 표현 양상에 대해 문법적으로 살펴보았는데이런 연구가 한국어의 의미문법연구의 빈 칸을 채우는 기초연구가 될 수있기를 기대해본다.
The quantity category is a general phenomenon in all languages,however, specific expressions can be very different along with a specific language. For example, in Korean, morpheme, words and even phrases are used to express the quantity category. And at the same time, the words may follows different categories to represent the quantity meaning. In the traditional grammar system, we have been doing research on morphosyntactic numeral, classifier and quantifier. With a different point of view, in this paper, the quantity category can be regarded as a stage of semantic grammar just like modality category,category of space and time through figuring out the characteristics,system and doing research on image expressions. Firstly, the conceptions of quantity and this category are founded. Then the characteristics has been explained. Last but not the least, based on the characteristics in 3chapters, I tried to do some more detailed classification to set up a system. It makes great sense in grammar research with a new exploring in the categorization system of classifier of Korean. It will be very satisfactory if the research on expression aspects analyzed can play a role as the basic foundation of the grammar research of Korean.
