The widespread production and use of pesticides have severely impacted the pristine quality of waterresources. Present conventional techniques are incapable of removing such endocrine disruptingchemicals due to their recalcitrant nature. The use of functional material, namely hybrids of titanium, zinc, tungsten, iron, carbon, and polymers exhibits tremendous significance as the advanced treatmentalternatives. The efficient applications of these materials are mainly attributed to their multidimensionalproperties, like the surface functionalization, visible light sensitivity, and reduced electron–holerecombination, etc. The treatment of this priority pollutant by the functional material and the relatedissues of concerns has been critically emphasized.
