본고는 팬데믹 시기 출간된 문학·기록 텍스트에 ‘배민(‘배달의 민족’의 약어)’이라는 기표가 징후(symptom)적으로 드러나는 사실에 주목한 후, 이 기표와 노동 외주화(Labor Outsourcing)의 구조적 인과로 드러나는 배달 노동 주체의 설움 양상을 분석한다.기존 연구에 따르면 설움은 근대적 주체의 의지와 관계 없이 사회적 조건(타자)에 의해 촉발되는 슬픔과 고통의 정동이다. 텍스트의 배달 주체 역시 긱(gig) 구조로부터 강요된 속도 경쟁에 예속되어 설움에 동요된다. 이 속도의 경쟁은 타인과의 비교가 아닌 속력을 절대화하는 자기 갱신의 방식이고, 주체는 자기 경영의 책임을 떠맡는다. 점차 노동이 외주화되는 현대사회 주체는 자기 내부에 설움을 면역화하고, 구조적 문제와 설움의 근원이 스스로에 있다고 여겨착취 주체 겸 대상으로 전락한다.그러나 주체는 이와 같이 변이된 설움을 직면하고, 노동 구조를 비판적으로 검토한다. 현실에서 구성되는 정동은 감각의 역치값을 조절하는 변용에 의해 현실을 재구성하는 힘이 된다. 이에 새로 인식된 설움은 공동체의 부재를 환기하고 연대와 협력을 바탕으로 하는 새로운 공동체에의 욕망을 드러낸다. 이 욕망은 자기방어적 퇴행이 아니며, 기존 재현체계의 바깥을 상상한다는 점에서 시사적이며 고무적이다.
The widely popular label of Bae-min (배민 ; an abbreviation of Baedal-eui Minjok [배달의민족], which is also the most popular delivery service app in South Korea) has been revealed to be an unconscious symptom in the poetry and literary texts published during the pandemic. This study analyzes the affect of the seol-woom (설움; sorrow/ sadness) of the delivery labor subject, who has structural causality with this label and labor outsourcing (society).According to existing analysis, seolwoom is the affect of sadness and sorrow triggered by social conditions (others) regardless of the will of the modern subject. In labor outsourcing society, competition in speed becomes a method of self-renewal that absolutizes speed, and not comparison with others; and the subject takes on the responsibility of self-management. Thus, the subject of text in pandemic, who is immunizing the structure of seol-woom, thinks that the causes of structural problems and seol-woom lie in him/her/them-self, and is thus reduced to the subject and object of self-exploitation.However, the subject faces this mutated seol-woom and critically reviews the platform’s labor structure. The affect constructed in reality becomes the force to reconstruct reality by the affection/ transformation that controls the threshold value of the senses. The newly recognized seol-woom evokes the absence of the community and reveals the desire for a new community based on solidarity and cooperation. This desire is not a self-defensive regression, but is suggestive in that it imagines the outside of the representation system that represents the Other’s voice, and then reconstructs it.
