Design and Issues of Writing Literatures Using ChatGPT

OpenAI社의 대화형 인공지능 ChapGPT가 전세계적으로 큰 관심을 받고 있다. ChatGPT는 사용자가 질문을 통해 원하는 답변을 얻는 방식으로, 자료를 검색하거나, 자연어를 코딩으로 변환하거나, 시를 쓰거나, 문헌을 분석하는 등 다양한 목적으로 활용이 가능하며, 사용자와 인공지능 간 상호작용을 통해 사용자가 원하는 정보를 습득하고, 더 나아가서 답변들을 종합 분석하여 통찰력을 얻을 수 있다는 점에서 정보 습득 패러다임의 획기적인 변화를 가져올 수 있다. 본 연구는 R&D 활동에 필수적인 문헌 작성에서 ChatGPT가 얼마나 도움을 줄 수 있으며, 또한 효율적인지를 확인하고자, 영어 및 한글 문헌을 작성하는 전과정을 설계하고, ChatGPT와 Google Translator를 이용하여 실제 작성하였다. ‘정보 서비스의 개념, 그리고 주요 기능과 알고리즘’을 설명하는 영어 및 한글 문헌을 작성하기 위해 사전 정의한 4개의 문헌 구조를 기반으로 하여 7개의 단락으로 구성된 영어 및 한글 문헌을 최종적으로 작성하는 과정을 단계별로 확인하였다. 프롬프트 엔지니어링 방식으로 질문들이 준비된 이후부터 최종 문헌을 작성하는 데 걸리는 시간은 대개의 경우 최대 10분 이내일 것으로 예상되며, 이는 기존 문헌 작성 속도보다 매우 빠르고 효율적인 것이다. 작성된 영어 및 한글 문헌에 대한 표절 검사 결과는 100% 원본으로 나왔는데, 이는 참조하는 문헌 내 해당 부분을 제시할 수 있는 기존 Q&A 엔진과는 전혀 다른 방식으로 동작한다는 것을 의미한다. 결론적으로, ChatGPT가 문헌 작성에 분명 도움이 되지만, 참고문헌 부재와 자연스러운 거짓말을 포함하는 답변에 유의할 필요가 있으며, 사실 (Fact)에 대한 검증 기술의 필요성을 확인하였다.

OpenAI’s interactive artificial intelligence ChapGPT is receiving significant attention worldwide. ChatGPT can contribute to various purposes, such as searching for data, converting natural language into coding, writing poetry, and analyzing literature. Interactions between AI and human beings can bring about a revolutionary change in the information acquisition paradigm and comprehensively analyze answers to gain insight. In this study, to confirm how helpful and efficient ChatGPT can be in writing literature as one of the R&D activities, the entire process of writing English and Korean literature was designed and written using ChatGPT and Google Translator. The process of finalizing English and Korean literature consists of 7 paragraphs based on the 4 document structures to write English and Korean literature that explains ‘The concept of information service and its main functions and algorithms.’ We expect the time required to prepare the final literature from the time the organization of questions in the way of prompt engineering, in most cases, up to 10 minutes, which is much faster and more efficient than conventional literature writing speed. The results of the plagiarism test for the written English and Korean documents came out as 100% original, which means that it operates in a completely different way from well-known Q&A engines that can present the relevant part in the referenced document. In conclusion, although ChatGPT helps write literature, it is necessary to pay attention to the absence of references and answers containing natural lies, confirming the need for fact check.
