이 글에서는 조선인 단독으로 최초로 편찬한 일본어 학습서인 崔在翊의 『普通日本語典』(1906)의 체재와 각 부분의 기술 내용을 살펴, 이 책에서 조선인들에게 일본어의 어떤 것을 알아가며 학습하게 하였는지와 이 책에 제시된 예문을 접하며 학습자들이 세상사의 어떤 면을 접하게 되었는지와 예문에 대응하는 조선어에서 보이는 특징을 살펴보았다. 「例言」을 보면 이 책은 일본에 가거나 일본어를 배우는 사람이 많아진 시대적 상황과 요청에 맞추어 일어 연구자에게 도움을 주려고 일상적으로 쉽게 접하고 널리 쓰는 예문을 제시하여 편찬했음을 알 수 있다. 이 책은 「緖論」, 「上篇」, 「中篇」, 「下篇」, 「尾」의 다섯 부분으로 구성되어 있는데, 총 128쪽 중 단어와 형태에 해당하는 「中篇」이 75%, 음운과 문자에 해당하는 「上篇」이 12.5%, 문장에 해당하는 「下篇」이 10.93%에 해당하여 단어와 형태 중심의 기술이 이루어져 있다. 이 책의 중심을 이루는 「中篇」의 기술을 보면 ①名詞, ②代名詞, ③動詞, ④形容詞, ⑤助動詞, ⑥副詞, ⑦接續詞, ⑧感歎詞, ⑨助詞와 같이 9개의 품사가 설정되었는데, 이것은 三土忠造의 『中等國文典』(1898)의 품사 설정과 일치한다. 또한 數詞가 없다는 점에서 주시경의 『국어문법』(1905)와 유사하다. 이 책에 쓰인 예문에는 일본의 입장에 서서 이해하게 되거나 국가를 위한 희생의 정당화 또는 국민의 도리 등이 강조된 국가주의적인 내용이 담긴 것이 포함되어 있다. 또한 국어 어휘사에 관한 연구에서도 의미가 있는 예들도 적지 않게 포함되어 있어 관심을 가지고 살펴볼 필요가 있다.
In this article, we looked at the text structure and description by Choe Jae-ik"s Botongilboneojeon(普通日本語典)(1906), the first Japanese study book compiled by Koreans alone, and looked at what language and language learning can be seen as the description content of this text. First of all, in the description of the prophecy, this book was compiled by presenting examples that were easily encountered and widely used to help Japanese researchers in accordance with the situation and request of the times when many people went to Japan or learned Japanese. This book consists of five parts: introduction, upper part, middle part, lower part, and end part. Omong the 128 pages, 75% of the words and forms, 12.5% of the upper part corresponding to phonemes and letters, and 10.93% of the sentences. Looking at the techniques of the central part of this book, nine part of words were set, such as noun, pronoun, verb, adjective, adverb, conjunction, exclamation, and postposition, which are consistent with the establishment of part of word in Chutokokubunten(中等國文典)(1898). In addition, there is no difference compared to Ju Sigyeong"s Gugeomunbeop(1905) in that there is no investigation. The example sentences written in this book include nationalistic content that is understood from Japan"s point of view or that emphasizes the justification of sacrifice for the nation or the people"s duty. In addition, there are a number of meaningful linguistic materials in the study of Korean vocabulary history, so it is necessary to look at them with interest.
