대학 교양교육에서 자기성찰적 글쓰기 연구의 현황과 과제

Current Status and Tasks of Introspective Writing Research in University Liberal Arts Education

본 연구의 목적은 대학 글쓰기 교육에서 이루어지는 글쓰기 유형 중에서 ‘자기성찰적 글쓰기’의 연구 동향을 고찰하여 ‘자기성찰적 글쓰기’가 지니는 교육적 의미와 향후 과제를 제안하는 데 있다. ‘자기성찰적 글쓰기’는 ‘자기표현 글쓰기’ 혹은 ‘자기 서사 글쓰기’ 혹은 ‘자기 고백 글쓰기’ 등 다양한 용어로 명명되는데 본 논의에서는 나와 타자 및 세계에 대한 ‘성찰과 탐색’의 의미가 잘 드러나는 ‘자기성찰적 글쓰기’라는 용어로 통일하고 연구를 진행하였다. 2000년 중후반 이후 대학 글쓰기 교과 과정 개편에서 ‘자기성찰적 글쓰기’는 주요한 과정으로 주목받기 시작하였고, 이에 대한 결과물로 자기성찰적 글쓰기의 의미와 효용성, 다양한 매개체를 활용한 글쓰기 교육의 방법론, 체계적이고 실제적인 교과 과정 개발, 자서전과 자기소개서 쓰기, 인접의 분야로의 적용과 연계, 평가 방법 등 다양한 업적이 축적되었다. 이러한 논의의 추이를 살펴보기 위해 2000년부터 2022년 8월에 작성된 학술논문 중 ‘성찰적 글쓰기’, ‘자기표현 글쓰기’, ‘자기 서사 글쓰기’라는 키워드로 검색된 총 63편을 분석하였고, 크게 두 부류로 나눌 수 있다. 첫째, 자기성찰적 글쓰기의 의미와 효용성, 가치와 위상 등과 같은 거시적 담론을 다룬 이론적 검토, 둘째, 강의 사례를 통한 구체적인 글쓰기 교육 방법론, 교과 과정 개발 등을 제안한 사례 연구이다. 이론적 연구는 자기성찰적 글쓰기의 인문 교양으로서의 교육적 함의, 글쓰기 장르로서의 비판적 고찰, 성찰적 글쓰기의 방향성과 교육 방법론, 교육 현황 분석 등 사례 연구에 비해 편수는 적지만 이러한 연구는 현장에서 진행되는 성찰적 글쓰기 교육 패러다임을 발전·변화시키는 마중물 역할을 하고 있다. 강의 사례 연구는 자기성찰적 글쓰기의 필요성 및 효용성을 증명하고 발전적인 교육 방안을 제시하는 것으로 귀결되고 있다. 구체적 양상을 보면 성찰적 글쓰기의 주제 관련 논의, 이론의 적용과 사례 분석 관련 논의, 효과적인 합평과 피드백 관련 논의, 성찰의 과정에 다다르기 위한 매개체로 영화와 소설을 활용한 논의, 마지막으로 성찰적 글쓰기의 효과를 양적･질적으로 심층적으로 다룬 논의이다. 이러한 논의를 통해 ‘자기성찰적 글쓰기’ 연구의 추이와 주제 변화 양상을 살펴볼 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to examine the research trend of ‘self-reflection writing’ among the types of writing in university writing education and to suggest the educational meaning and future tasks of ‘self-reflection writing’. In the reorganization of the university"s writing curriculum after mid-to-late 2000, “self-reflection writing” began to attract attention as a major process, and various achievements such as the meaning and utility of introspective writing, methodology of writing using various media, systematic and practical curriculum development, autobiography and self-introduction writing, and evaluation methods were accumulated. In order to examine the trend of these discussions, 63 academic papers written from 2000 to August 2022 were analyzed, and can be largely divided into two categories. First, it is a case study that proposed a theoretical review of macroscopic discourse such as the meaning and effectiveness of introspective writing, value and status, and second, a specific writing education methodology through lecture cases, and curriculum development.
