연구는 노년기 부부의 결혼만족도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인들을 규명하기 위해서 결혼만족도와 사회인구학적 요인, 의사소통, 역할분담과 결정권, 배우자지지, 자아존중감, 성생활만족도 등과의 관계들을 분석하였다. 본 연구는 서울시에 거주하면서 노인종합복지관, 종합사회복지관, 노인대학 및 경로당을 이용하는 60세 이상 노인들 중에서 총 200명을 편의 모집하여 구조화된 설문지로 면접자에 의한 설문을 실시하였고, 최종 188명의 분석에 활용되었다. 본 연구의 주요 결과들은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 응답자들의 의사소통은 낮은 수준으로 나타났으며, 역할분담과 결정권은 부부공동형인 것으로 나타났고, 배우자 지지는 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 응답자들의 자아존중감은 높은 것으로 나타났고, 성생활만족도는 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 결혼만족도는 보통 수준인 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성별, 연령, 교육수준, 경제상태 등에 따라서 결혼만족도에 차이가 나타났다. 셋째, 결혼만족도는 연령, 결혼생활년수, 평균수입, 건강상태, 공동여가활동빈도, 의사소통, 역할분담 및 결정권, 배우자지지, 자아존중감, 성생활만족도 등과 유의미한 상관관계가 있었다. 넷째, 성별, 결혼연수, 공동여가활동빈도, 역할분담, 자아존중감 등이 결혼만족도에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인들로 밝혀졌다. 따라서, 노년기 부부의 결혼만족에 대해 체계적으로 사정하고, 노인복지관련 전문가 및 사회복지사들은 노년기 부부의 다양한 특성과 욕구에 대한 이해를 높이고 효과적인 개입방안을 모색해야 한다. 앞으로 노년기 부부의 결혼생활 만족도를 개선하기 위해서 정부는 기존의 노년기 부부관련 정책의 문제점을 시정하고, 노년기 부부의 개별적인 특성 및 상태를 고려하여 노인복지서비스를 제공해야 한다.
This study investigated the major determinants of marital satisfaction among the elderly couples, and explored some relationships among marital satisfaction, socio-demographic variables, communication, house task , conjugal decision making, spousal support, self-esteem, and sexual satisfaction among the elderly couples. The statistical methods used for the data analysis were descriptive statistics, analysis of variance(ANOVA), correlation analysis, and multiple regression. The major findings were obtained in the study as following. First, the respondents" showed low level in communication. The respondents" showed ‘cooperating-couple type in house task & conjugal decision making. The respondents" showed high level in spousal support. The respondents" were high level in self-esteem. The respondents" showed low level in sexual satisfaction. The respondents" showed mild level in marital satisfaction. Second, the respondents" sex, age, education levels, economic status were effects on marital satisfaction. Third, the respondents" age, income, health status, marriage year, joint leisure activities, communication, house task, conjugal decision making, spousal support, self-esteem, and sexual satisfaction were correlated with marital satisfaction. Fourth, the major determinants of marital satisfaction were the respondents" sex, marriage year, joint leisure activities, spousal support, self-esteem. Finally, implications were discussed for developing effective social welfare policies and social work programs to the community resident elderly couples for improvement of general marital satisfaction.
