한국프로스포츠의 문화철학적 접근

The cultural-philosophical approach of Korean professional sport

본 연구는 현재 한국에서 열리고 있는 프로스포츠 가운데 프로야구를 중심으로 관중들의 관람형태와 의식을 문화적 관점에서 고찰하는 것이다. 프로야구에 있어서 특히 부산시민들의 관람형태와 의식구조를 연구하기 위해서 지금까지의 정치적, 경제적, 사회적 관점의 시각에서 벗어나 문화철학적 관점에서 한국 프로스포츠의 제 현상을 가름하는 준거의 틀을 제공하고자 하며 구체적 연구내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 야구경기를 관람하는 관중들의 의식(문화)은 어떠한가? 둘째, 야구를 포함한 프로스포츠의 활성화를 위한 문화적 접근은 가능한가? 프로야구가 스포츠로서 진정한 가치를 가지고 우리사회의 예측 가능한 소통의 문화로 자리매김하기 위해서는 특정계층의 전유물이 아닌 전 세대의 공유물이 되어야 할 것이다. 이를 위해서 차세대의 잠재적 야구 소비자인 어린이들과 여성들의 프로야구 관람문화의 변화를 유도해야 할 것이다. 이는 프로야구의 근본적 토대를 걱정하고 구조적 개선방안을 모색하는 문화철학적 관점의 관람문화에 대한 재정립을 의미하는 것이다. 전술한 바와 같이 정상적인 학교교육을 통한 야구의 올바른 이해와 세대 간 소통을 위한 매개체로서의 정착이 절실히 요구된다. 특히 차세대의 주역인 청소년들과 여성들의 관람문화의 변화는 미래사회의 세대 간 소통을 이어주는 징검다리 역할을 수행할 것이며 이는 프로야구 관람문화의 새로운 패러다임을 창출할 것이다.

This paper examined spectators attitudes toward Korean professional baseball games from a cultural aspect. This study examined Busan baseball spectators’ more closely from a cultural-philosophical aspect rather than from a political, economical, or social view. The following questions are discussed in detail. First, what are attitudes of baseball spectators’ like? Second, is it possible to promote professional sports from a cultural approach? If professional sports are watched more by all ages, it can help bridge the gap between generations. Watching professional games should be enjoyed by all generations. Therefore, to attract potential spectators such as adolescents and women, there needs to be changes in the traditional culture of spectators’. This traditional culture is typically made up of middle-aged men and involves behaviors such as drinking and cheering. We should set up desirable professional sports spectators’ culture based on cultural social and historical aspects of baseball games. In conclusion, a proper education in baseball at school during adolescence can help define a more indiscriminate baseball culture. Such a change in baseball culture can go on to create a new paradigm in professional baseball spectators’ and serve to mend communication gaps between generations in the future.
