대학 사회복지실습교육 모델(TOP-A) 개발에 관한 연구

The Direction of the Family-support Center Program through the Analysis of Family Welfare Program at Community Welfare Center in Seoul

The purpose of this study is to propose an alternative practicum system model of social welfare department/division of Korean universities. Most universities have made great efforts to achieve substantial practice effect by setting up their own standards of social work practicum system, support system, and supervision methods, but some of them still have a very poor system, which will level down the quality of the social work professionalism. To overcome these problems found in current practicum education systems such as insufficient field experience, ineffective supervision, gap between schools and field, etc, we suggest TOP-A mode. This is, an alternative model of social work practicum education system at the university level. Especially the proposed model was highlighted on how the universities have the initiatives on fields practices system of social welfare education. Therefore the model is expected to have notable features in strengthening practical education and the role of schools especially in partnership with fields, and diversifying supervision methods. TOP-A model, consisting of four steps, Touring, Observation, Practicum, and Application, aims at nurturing field experts with practical abilities. The results of implementing the model during 2004 year showed that professors and students were highly satisfied with the classes contents than before, and that students more professionalized through the system. In prospects, we will continue to develop this model to make it more useful through continuous application of it to the actual education field.

본 연구는 사회복지교육의 양적 확대에 따라 지속적으로 제기되고 있는 사회복지 실천교육 및 실습교육과 관련된 문제점들 - 실습의 불충분성, 단순한 실천교육 및 실습지도 방법, 적절한 지도와 관리에 요구되는 학생의 규모, 학교와 현장 간 괴리 등 - 에 대한 대안을 모색하기 위한 것이다. 따라서 실습 체계의 중심이 되는 대학이 어떻게 실습과 연계된 현장중심의 교육을 진행하고, 실습지도 과정에서 어떤 역할을 해야 하는 지에 초점을 맞추어 현 실천 및 실습 교육의 문제점을 보완할 수 있는 대안적 모델인 TOP-A를 제시하였다. TOP-A 모델은 탐방실습(Touring), 관찰실습(Observation), 현장실습(Practicum), 그리고 응용실습(Application) 등 4단계로 구성된 것으로 이제까지 제시된 통합모델과는 달리 현장보다는 대학의 역할에 초점이 주어져 있다는 점과 실습의 개념을 현장실습 뿐 아니라 실천교육 전반에 확대 적용하여 학생들의 현장실천능력을 강화하는 데에 중점을 두고 있다는 점에서 차별화된다. 2004년도 1, 2학기 동안 실제 교육에 적용하여 본 결과, 각 단계마다 교수나 수강 학생들 모두 수업만족도가 높게 나타났을 뿐만 아니라 실천가로서의 자질을 높여가는 데에 도움이 되는 것으로 드러났다. 앞으로 이 모델이 교육현장에서 성공하기 위해서는 몇 가지 해결해야 할 과제가 있지만 한국 사회복지의 실천 및 실습교육의 문제점을 개선하려는 대학의 자구적인 시도라는 점에서 그 의의가 있다고 하겠다.
