This study intends to test an integrated model in the explanation of juvenile cyber bullying in mobile instant messenger. This study investigates the interaction effects between push and pull factors for an integrated model. Based on general strain theory and general theory of crime, this study uses strain in family, school, and peer relation and low self-control as push factors and emphasized social learning and opportunity factors as pull factors in explaining juvenile cyber bullying in mobile instant messenger. In this sense, this study examines the interaction effects between push factors(strain factors and low self-control) and pull factors(social learning factors and opportunity factor). Using data from surveying 1,496 middle and high school students in Seoul and Kyunggi area, it is found that cyber bullying are explained by several factors and their interaction. Results show that the interaction effects between both strain factors and social learning factors are significant and the interaction effect between low self-control and opportunity factor is also significant.
이 연구는 청소년들의 모바일 인스턴트 메신저 이용상의 사이버불링의 원인을 찾고자 했고무엇보다 통합론적 설명을 다루고자 했다. 이 연구에서는 대표적 통합이론이라 할 수 있는 일반긴장이론 및 일반이론을 근거로 사이버불링의 배출요인들과 촉진요인들을 제시하고 그 요인들의통합작용을 검증하고자 하였다. 이에 일상긴장과 낮은 자기통제력을 배출요인으로 다뤘고 무엇보다 이 연구에서는 모바일 인스턴트 메신저 이용상에서의 사회학습요인과 기회요인이 촉진요인으로서 중요할 것이라는 점에 주목했고, 일상긴장요인들 및 낮은 자기통제력이 각각 사회학습 및기회요인들과 상호작용효과를 가질 것이라는 통합모델을 제시했다. 서울, 경기지역 1,496명 중, 고등학생을 대상으로 조사한 자료의 분석결과 사이버불링은 여러 요인들에 의해 설명이 가능하고, 특히 그 요인들이 독립적으로 뿐만 아니라 일부 요인들에서는 서로가 필요충분조건이 되어 통합적으로 작용한다는 것을 제시했다. 즉 모바일 인스턴트 메신저상의 사이버불링에 있어서 일상긴장요인들은 사회학습요인과 그리고 낮은 자기통제력의 작용에서는 기회요인이 중요하여 상호작용효과가 유의미한 것을 제시해, 통합모델을 부분적이지만 어느 정도 지지하는 결과를 제시했다.
