This research grasps the outdoor play environments and their management conditions for the infants of infant nurseries and infant and toddler nurseries in Daejeon, comparing how these nurseries are different. The outdoor environments for infants were observed by experts, and data for the managements of the outdoor play environments was collected through a questionnaire survey for teachers. The result of the research shows that the two kinds of institutions all have insufficient outdoor play spaces and fixed․movable play toys in the outdoor play environment. In addition, the qualities of the outdoor environments are very low and that there is a meaningful difference according to the types of the two institutions. Moreover, in the recognitions of teachers for the management methods and managements of the outdoor play for infants, there is a meaningful difference according to the types of the two institutions.
본 연구는 대전시에 있는 영아전담 어린이집과 영유아통합 어린이집 영아반의 실외놀이 환경과 운영의 실태를 파악하고, 어떻게 다른지 비교해 보았다. 영아들을 위한 실외놀이 환경은 연구자가 현장관찰을 실시하였고, 실외놀이 운영은 교사들을 대상으로 질문지를 통하여 자료를 수집하였다. 그 결과 영아반의 실외놀이 환경은 두 기관 모두 영아들을 위한 실외놀이 공간과 고정․이동놀이 시설이 부족하고, 실외놀이 영역의 질도 매우 낮았으며 두 기관 유형에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 또한 영아반의 실외놀이 운영방법과 운영에 대한 교사의 인식에서도 두 기관 유형에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다.
