Sapkyo An suk-kyong, his dream and inner world

This study analyzes the prose of Sapkyo霅橋 An suk-kyong安錫儆 on which his dream and inner world view are intensely reflected. It also establishes the influence on his life through his literature. Kimongsi記夢詩 and Mongki夢記 by An suk-kyong is intensively created at his age between 32 to 35, which was from 1749 to 1752. This period becomes a great watershed which draws first half of his life as a writer. Through the analysis of Kimongryu記夢類, we could learn that he undergoes self-consciousness and meetings with others, works around inner conflict and seeks the main significance of existence all through his dreams. Also, we are able to experience the encounter and consciousness in his dreams directly. We recognize surmounting of his inner conflicts and understand the meaning of his being existed all through his dreams. The creation of Kimongryu takes a great role of making a direction of the latter half of An suk-kyong’s life as a writer. He realizes his voice would not be heard at the royal court. After he decides he will be sitting on his early retirement, he writes a book about overall national issues embodying his whole heart and soul. His dream has remarkable influence over his literary work during the second half of his life as a writer. Kimongryu by An suk-kyong represents multilayered aspects of his inner world, and clarifies roles of his dreams into his literacy.

본고는 18세기 老論系 處士 문인인 霅橋 安錫儆이 꿈을 기록한 작품을 분석하여, 이에 투영된 그의 내면세계를 밝혔다. 안석경은 30대 초반에 집중적으로 꿈을 기록했다. 그는 꿈을 통해 이상과 현실의 괴리에 따른 심리적 갈등을 스스로 위로하고 새로운 삶의 방향을 모색했다. 30대 초반은 그의 전반부와 후반부 삶을 나누는 분수령이다. 그는 20대를 과거 준비와 과거 응시로 보내지만, 35세 이후 과거에 대한 미련을 버리고 隱士로 살아간다. 안석경은 꿈을 통해 동시대의 벗, 선배 문인, 중국의 성현과 문인, 정체 미상의 인물과 대화하며 자신의 세계관과 인생관을 성찰하고 삶의 존재의의를 찾고자 노력했다. 그는 꿈의 기록을 통해, 고민과 직면하여 답을 모색하고 정체성을 수립하며 미래를 구상했다. 그 결과 그는 자신의 본성에 맞는 길을 선택하고, 그 결정에 후회 없이 후반부의 삶을 살아갈 수 있었다. 안석경의 꿈을 기록한 작품은 자신의 소망하는 삶의 방향을 모색한 과정을 여과 없이 그리고 있다.
