A Miniaturized Yagi Antenna for ZigBee Communications

In this paper, a miniaturized and printed Yagi antenna is proposed for use in ZigBee communications. The proposed antenna consists of a bent dipole driver, five directors, a reflector and a feed line with a balun. The antenna is fed by a GCPW whose plane also acts as a reflector. The antenna performance versus design parameters is analyzed using a commercial software, from which an optimum design is derived. The designed antenna is fabricated on a 33×80×1mm FR-4 substrate and its performance is tested. The fabricated antenna has a gain of 4.0dBi at 2.45GHz and a reflection coefficient of less than -10dB over 2.31-2.55GHz.

본 논문에서는 Zigbee 통신을 위해 소형화된 인쇄형 야기 안테나를 제안하였다. 제안한 안테나는 접힌 다이폴 구동기, 5개의 도파기, 반사기 및 벌룬 급전선로 등으로 구성된다. 제안된 안테나는 GCPW 선로에 의해 급전되며 급전선로의 접지면은 반사기로도 동작한다. 상용 소프트웨어를 이용하여 안테나의 설계변수 변화에 따른 안테나 성능을 분석하고 이로부터 최적 설계를 도출하였다. 설계된 안테나를 33×80×1mm 크기의 FR-4 기판에 제작하여 성능을 확인하였다. 제작된 안테나는 2.45GHz에서 4.0dBi의 이득을 가지며 2.31-2.55 GHz 대역에서 -10dB 이하의 반사계수를 가진다.
