This study was to examine the essential meaning and structure of the experiences of adults with developmental disabilities who participated in weekend sports clubs. To achieve the purpose of this study, seven mothers who regularly attend sports clubs among mothers belonging to a sports club operated for adults with developmental disabilities in Y-gu, Seoul were selected as the study subjects. As a result of data analysis, 13 subcomponents and 5 components were finally derived. The five components of the weekend sports club participation experience are as follows. First, "facing the reality of adults with developmental disabilities", second, "structural restrictions on leisure activities", third, "satisfaction with participation in sports clubs", fourth, "change through club activities", fifth, "willingness to participate in continuous weekend leisure activities" appear. Therefore, in this study, the essential meaning of the experience of participation in weekend sports clubs by adults with developmental disabilities is "realization of healthy leisure activities with the local community out of an isolated environment".
본 연구는 주말 스포츠동호회 참여한 성인 발달장애인들의 경험에 대한 본질적 의미와 구조를 탐색하고자 하였다. 본 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 서울특별시 Y구 소재에서 성인 발달장애인을 대상으로 운영 중인 스포츠동호회 소속 어머니 중 정기적으로 스포츠동호회에 참관하시는 어머니 7명을 연구 대상자로 선정하였다. 자료 수집은 심층면담, 관찰일지, 운영 일지 등의 자료를 2019년 3월부터 11개월까지 약 8개월간 수집하여 분석에 활용하였다. 자료 분석은 Giorgi의 기술적 현상 방법의 4단계에 따라 자료를 분석하였으며, 연구의 진설성 확보를 위해 연구 참여자의 내용검토, 관련 전문가 협의 과정 등 삼각 검증법을 시행하였다. 자료 분석 결과 최종적으로 5개의 구성요소와 13개의 하위구성요소로 도출하였다. 주말 스포츠동호회 참여 경험의 본질적 의미하는 5개의 구성요소는 첫째, ‘성인 발달장애인의 현실 직면’, 둘째, ‘여가활동 구조적 제약’, 셋째, ‘스포츠동호회 참여 만족’, 넷째, ‘동호회 활동을 통한 변화’, 다섯째, ‘지속적인 주말 여가활동 참여 의지’ 로 나타났으며, 본 연구에서 성인 발달장애인의 주말 스포츠동호회 참여 경험의 대한 본질적 의미는 ‘고립된 환경에서 벗어나 지역사회와의 건강한 여가활동 실현 ’이 되었다는 것이다.
