Study on additional of Mast Cover for CMDS foreign body prevention

CMDS mounted on supersonic aircraft systems play a role in responding to enemy threats through Flare and Chaff when external RF and IR threats occur. There was a problem of oil inflow inside the CMDS, which is essential for aircraft survival, and improvement was needed to prevent the risk of explosion due to the nature of Chaff and Flare fired with gunpowder. In order to improve this, cause analysis and derivation of improvement plans were performed. Improvement plans such as APU Drain Cover, CMDS front structure installation, and APU Drain Mast location change were derived, and APU Drain Cover improvement plans were selected through advantage and disadvantage analysis. As for the improvement plan, the validity and safety of the improvement plan were reviewed through flight test and stress analysis test

초음속 항공기 시스템에 탑재된 CMDS는 외부 RF와 IR 위협이 발생했을 때 플레어와 채프를 통해 적의 위협에 대응하는 역할을 수행한다. 이와같이 항공기 생존에 필수적인 CMDS 내부에 유류 유입 문제가 발생하였으며, 화약으로 발사되는 채프와 플레어의 특성상 폭발 위험을 방지하기 위한 개선이 필요했다. 이를 개선하기 위해 원인분석 및 개선계획 도출을 수행하였으며, APU Drain Cover, CMDS 앞 구조물 설치, APU Drain Mast 위치 변경 등의 개선안을 도출하였다. 개선된 도출안의 장단점 분석을 통해 APU Drain Cover 개선안을 선정하였으며, 비행시험 및 응력 분석을 통해 개선방안의 타당성과 안전성을 검토하였다.
