[Purpose]The purpose of this study is to analyze the current status, hotspots and trends of research related to stock price crash risk. It is intended to provide help in grasping the future research direction by organizing the context of previous studies related to this. [Methodology]This study adopts the method of “bibiometrics+visual knowledge graph” to visualize the journal literature in the core collection library of WOS from 2004 to 2022, and analyzes the hotspots and frontier trend of stock price crash risk. [Findings]International publications on the risk of stock price crash are increasing. Developed countries represented by USA, England and Australia have made remarkable achievements in the field of stock price crash risk. Research hotspots mainly focus on stock price crash risk, return, corporate governance and other words. Financial performance and uncertainty show a sudden trend in these years, and are expected to become the focus of subsequent academic research. [Implications]Firstly, the expected results can make up for the defects of the existing qualitative studies in the literature. Secondly, it can help researchers find influential authors and research structures in a certain field for future cooperation or academic exchange. Thirdly, it can help scholars find the research hotspots and future research directions in the field of stock price crash risk, and further increase the research interest of scholars.
