청소년 집단비행 경험에 대한 질적 연구

A Qualitative Study on Adolescents’ Experiences of Group Delinquency

The purposes of this study are to explore adolescents" experiences of jevenile gang activies and examine their friendship experiences. For the purposes, in-depth interviews were conducted with nine teenagers who had been reported to the police for delinquent behavior. As a result of the analysis, three overarching categories and ten sub-categories were derived. The three overarching categories include‘Able to Delinquency with Friends,’‘Delinquency Only with a True Friend,’ and ‘Feeling Resentful and Regretful Towards Friends.’The research participants found their own happiness and satisfaction in their otherwise mundane daily school lives while engaging in delinquency within peer relationships. In this experiences, they affirmed their friendships with peers and found stronger bonds. However, it was also discovered that they harbored significant resentment toward their friends, believing that they engaged in delinquent activities because of their friends. This indicates that they underwent both positive and negative emotions, sharing all experiences with their friends through delinquency encounters within peer groups. Based on the study results, we concludes by proposing practical implications to prevent delinquency within adolescents" peer groups.

본 연구의 목적은 청소년의 또래와의 집단비행 경험에 대한 의미를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 집단비행으로 인해 경찰에 사건이 접수된 9명의 청소년을 대상으로 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 분석한 결과, 3개의 상위 구성요소와 10개의 하위 구성요소로 도출되었다. 상위 구성요소는‘친구가 있어 시작할 수 있었던 비행’,‘비행을 함께한 친구는 진정한 친구’,‘비행을 함께 한 친구는 원망스러운 친구’이다. 연구 참여자들은 힘든 일상에서 쉬어가는 의미로 친구와 비행을 시작하였음을 알 수 있었다. 이 비행 과정에서 친구와의 관계는 상반된 두 가지 의미로 나타났는데, 우선 비행은 친구와의 우정을 확인하고 우정이 더욱 돈독해지는 경험으로 나타났다. 다른 한편으로는 친구 때문에 비행을 저지르게 되었다고 생각되어 친구에 대한 큰 원망과 관계 단절로 나타나기도 하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 청소년 또래 집단비행 예방을 위한 정책적, 실천적 방안을 논의하였다.
