김소진 소설 ｢자전거 도둑｣의 아이러니 교육방안 연구 - 2015 개정 교육과정 중학교 국어 교과서를 중심으로

A Study on Ways for Educational Application of Irony in the Novel Bicycle Thief by So-Jin Kim - Focusing on Junior High School Korean Textbooks based on the 2015 Revised Curriculum

This study aims to suggest ways for educational application of irony as teaching unit materials by analyzing patterns of irony in the novel Bicycle Thief by So-Jin Kim. This study first examined the ironies in the novel and searched for ways for educational application that can help tackle certain problems found in teaching unit materials in junior high school Korean textbooks based on the 2015 revised curriculum in terms of irony teaching. The novel features a linguistic irony (where words deliver meaning different from their literal meaning), a situational irony (both ironical situations appear together), and a structural irony (a twist from a descriptive setting). This study attempted to find ways to tackle the current issues involving teaching irony by applying those three ironies. Given that irony is an important rhetoric, it is certainly worth exploring ways to introduce modern novels as educational materials in teaching irony. This study makes a considerable contribution in that it offers educational application based on a detailed analysis of irony patterns in Bicycle Thief by So-Jin Kim.

이 논문은 김소진의 소설 ｢자전거 도둑｣을 대상으로 아이러니가 나타나 는 양상을 분석하고 중학교 『국어』 교과서의 아이러니 교육 단원 제재로의 활용 방안을 제안하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이에 김소진의 소설 ｢자전거 도둑｣ 속 아이러니를 살펴본 후, 2015 개정 교육과정 중학교 국어 교과서 아이러니 교육 단원의 문제점을 보완할 수 있는 교육방안을 모색해 보았다. ｢자전거 도둑｣의 텍스트를 분석한 결과 표면에서 드러나는 축자적 의미와 다른 의미를 그 안에 품고 있는 언어적 아이러니, 상반된 두 상황이 동시에 발생하는 상황적 아이러니, 서사적 장치와 어우러져 형세의 반전을 수반하는 구조적 아이러니가 나타남을 확인하였고 이 제재를 활용한 아이러니 교육방안을 구상해 봄으로써 현행 아이러니 교육의 문제점을 보완하고자 하였다. 특히 아이러니가 현대소설에서 중요한 수사기법임을 고려할 때 현대소설을 교육 제재로 활용하는 방안을 모색해 볼 필요가 있다. 본 논문은 현행 중학교 아이러니 교육의 문제점을 살피고 이에 대한 대안으로 김소진의 ｢자전거 도둑｣을 대상으로 아이러니의 구현 양상을 집중적으로 분석한 후 교육방안을 모색했다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
