This study conducts an exploratory factor analysis to investigate the key design factors of the Pokémon Gym battle system. The purpose of the research is to identify the primary factors that influence player immersion and gaming experience and to propose corresponding optimization suggestions. Therefore, this paper combines player feedback, game design theory, and interdisciplinary research, incorporating perspectives from psychology, cultural studies, and game design. The study focuses on aspects such as the repetitiveness of Gym challenges, difficulty settings, interactivity, story integration, and reward mechanisms, with the aim of enhancing game appeal and player satisfaction. The research findings are as follows. First, the study identifies battle strategy as a key factor affecting players" strategic thinking and interaction. Second, cultural elements and enhanced experience significantly deepen the game and increase immersion by incorporating diverse cultural influences. Additionally, the ability and satisfaction factor highlights the sense of achievement and strategic capability players gain during battles, while the battle action rules ensure the fairness and challenge of the game. Lastly, game progress evaluation further enhances the core gameplay of Gym challenges. Through the integration of multidisciplinary insights, this study emphasizes the importance of a holistic approach to game design. Based on these findings, we anticipate that these factors can provide valuable insights for future Pokémon game development and offer directions for further research aimed at improving player experience and game attractiveness. The fusion of interdisciplinary research approaches in this study underscores the potential for more innovative and player-centered game design in the future.
