The urban concentration in a specific area deepens the phenomenon of hollowing out in the old city center, stagnating the local economy, causing residents to leave. As an important problem in the domestic urban situation, the phenomenon of vacant houses in cities, which has recently emerged, is increasing, and it is causing serious social problems. In particular, the problem of the seriousness of vacant houses has worsened since the COVID-19 pandemic. While the government's efforts to regenerate the old city center are being attempted as a solution, urban agriculture is attracting attention as an effective alternative to induce residents' participation and restore a sense of community. And although various urban regeneration studies using urban agriculture have been conducted, there do not appear to be many prior studies empirically analyzing whether the effect of regeneration efforts on the old city center instills settlement intentions among ordinary citizens. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose the possibility that urban agricultural experience will solve the phenomenon of hollowing out in the old city center. To this end, based on the theory of experiential economy, the relationship between the four elements of experiential economy of urban agriculture (educational, entertainment, deviant, and aesthetic experiences) on urban agriculture satisfaction and old-center settlement intention will be discussed. This is expected to contribute to re-examining the social, economic, and environmental values of urban agriculture and revealing the positive impact on settlement intentions, especially in old downtown areas.
