Increasing interest in physically active leisure lifestyles parallels the growth in physically active tourist pursuits. The purpose of this study was to examine the psychological and behavioral relationship between active leisure and tourism. Leisure and tourist activities, leisure involvement, leisure habit, tourist motivation, and tourist behavior were used to investigate this relationship. A probability sample of 316 university alumni association members who participate in active leisure and tourism were surveyed on-line. The data were analyzed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM). Results show that leisure involvement and leisure habits have significant effects on tourist behaviors and are mediated by tourism motivation.
