Present Situation of the Novice Teacher Induction Education

The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual conditions of induction education carried out in Korean kindergartens and to identify teachers' needs in the field of early childhood education. The subjects of this study were 150 novice teachers working for kindergartens located in Busan and Gyeongnam. The result of this study were as follows. First, carried out induction education in kindergartens was mostly executed by senior teachers including a head teacher and a vice-principal. Secondly, concerning the methods of induction education, it was found that this was mostly provided by senior staff including a head teacher, vice-principal, or principal, a personal interview, or informal talks. Thirdly, concerning the frequency of induction education, it was found that this was performed at times depending on personal situations rather than regular time or frequency.
