This study aims to examine the practical skills to facilitate cross cultural communication in the language classroom. Although traditionally courses and texts for language teachers concentrate on teaching L2 linguistic skills, it may be difficult to separate the teaching and learning of English from the culture of its speakers. In this paper, we will find that because language use reflects the culture of its speakers, the teaching of L2 culture can be closely intertwined with the teaching of most L2 linguistic skills. Teaching L2 culture together with speaking, listening (and noticing), reading, and writing more adequately represents the connections between language and culture than teaching L2 linguistic skills-or culture-in isolation.
