Strabismus is an eye disease found in one out of every 200 persons. In majority of cases, treatment of strabismus is done in childhood. Therefore, it is necessary for child-care providers to take proper care of children with strabismus at kindergartens and day -care centers Treatment of strabismus is conducted for two main objectives. One is curing the eyesight and the other is esthetic appearance ‘ Methods of curing the eyesight include, correcting the difficulty faced in seeing by using glasses, and occlusion therapy, where normal eye is shielded or covered using a patch or an eye drop, so that the child can use the fellow eye more and more and finally get used to seeing things with both the eyes With regard to childcare considerations for children with strabismus, we highlighted the following four points , 1. Understanding the peculiar way of seeing things, 2. Assisting the cure of strabismus, 3. Fostering the understanding of other children in surrounding about strabismus, and 4. Early detection of strabismus. It will be necessary, meas ures for increasing a w areness of child-care providers about children with strabismus, and development of educational material for understanding the treatment of strabismus.such as , development of picture books for understanding strabismus ’
