Authors examined cellular immune function in depressive illness by applicating Multitest- CMIr for cutaneous delayed hypersensitivity to drug-free 12 depressive patients, age and sex matched 8 patient control group and 12 normal control group. The results were as follows : 1) Depressive illness group showed smaller total diameter and area of skin indurations than patient group and normal control group, but there were no significant differences between them in numbers of positive skin reaction. 2) There was no significant difference between patient group and normal control group in various scores of skin reaction. Above findings suggest impairment of cellular immune function in depressive illness.
