The authors reviewed 30 patients(42土 14.5 in averaged age) treated with clonazepam. They were the psychiatric patients with panic and mood disorders who showed paroxysmal flush in common, and other psychiatric patients expected to be benefited by clonazepam treatment. The results were as follows 1) There was improvement in symptom of paroxysmal flush in twelve of thirteen patients. 2) Seven of ten panic disorders showed good clinical response, however, anxiolytic effect of clonazepam seemed to be weaker than alprazolam. 3) In ten patients with atypical depression, there was clinical improvement in two patients with abnormal EEG, one aged patient, and one patient with paroxysmal obsessive hallucination and delusion. With only clonazepam no antidepressant effect was observed in six patients with major depression and dysthymic. 4) Two restless legs syndrome and two noturnal myoclonuses were successfully treated with clonazepam.
