For designing practical intervention modality of alcoholic family, the authors analysed the differences of occurrence in mental symptoms, family adaptation and coersion, and life satisfaction between family members of alcoholism and those of normal in 3 Kangwha districts(Myun). 1) Family members of alcoholism showed higher scores in 6 of 9 symtoms ; obsessive-compulsive, depression, anxiety, hostility, paranoid ideation, psychoticism, than those of normal group, but the difference was not staticticaly significant. 2) The family coersion score of alcoholic family was 20.3, significantly(P〈0.1) lower than 22.2 of normal family, and the familly adaptation score of alcoholic family was 30.3, also significantly(P<0. 01) lower than 34.6 of alchohlic family in t-test. The life satisfaction of normal family was higher than those of alcoholic family, and this difference was statisticaly signicant(P〈0.01).
