비주얼 리터러시(Visual Literacy)의 구성요소를 기반으로 한 시각문화미술교육이 지적장애학생의 창의성과 비언어성 지능에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Visual Culture Art Education Based on Components of Visual Literacy on Creativity and Nonverbal Intelligence of Students with Intellectual Disabilities

본 연구는 비주얼 리터러시의 구성요소를 기반으로 한 시각문화미술교육이 지적장애학생의 창 의성과 비언어성 지능에 미치는 영향을 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. G도에 소재하고 있는 S 특수 학교의 중학교와 고등학교 과정에 재학하는 지적장애학생 55명중에서 무작위로 30명을 선정하여 실험집단에 15명을 배정하고 그 남은 15명을 통제집단에 배정하였다. 그리고 실험집단에 대해 연 구자가 주 1～2회씩 총 13회기에 걸쳐 회기 당 35분간 비주얼 리터러시의 구성요소를 기반으로 한 시각문화미술교육을 실시하였고 통제집단은 전통적인 교수를 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과에서 비주얼 리터러시의 구성요소를 기반으로 한 시각문화미술교육프로그램은 지적장애학생의 창의성 및 비언어성 지능 향상에 도움이 되는 교수방법으로 나타났다. 따라서 비주얼 리터러시의 구성요 소를 기반으로 한 시각문화미술교육프로그램이 지적장애학생들의 창의성과 비언어성 지능 향상에 효과적인 교수 전략이라고 할 수 있다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of visual culture art education based on components of visual literacy on the creativity and nonverbal intelligence of students with intellectual disabilities. 30 students were randomly selected from among 55 students with intellectual disabilities enrolled in middle school and high school course of S special school located in G - do. 15 students were assigned to experiment group and 15 students were assigned to control group. For the experiment group, the researcher conducted visual and cultural art education based on the components of visual literacy for one and two times a week for a total of 13 sessions per session for 35 minutes. As a result of this study, visual culture art education program based on the components of visual literacy appeared to be a teaching method to help students with intellectual disabilities to improve their creativity and non - verbal intelligence. Therefore, visual culture art education program based on the components of visual literacy is an effective teaching strategy for the improvement of creativity and nonverbal intelligence of students with intellectual disabilities.
