Substance Abuse in Adolescent

There were few literature in the area o f substance abuse in adolescent in Korea. Accordingly, it will be necessary to investigate the substance abuse o f adolescent, and we must recognize the meaning o f the drug abuse for the individual in his particular social and developmental situation as well. Further more the clinician and the psychiatrist should be aware o f the syndromes elicited by substances and should always include them in his differential diagnosis until they have been ruled out by chemical assay or other lab findings. Effective multimodality ways o f confronting issues in a therapeutic and a preventive manner have yet to be developed, because of a component o f complex and multifactor of treatment in drug abuses.
