군 자살기도자들에 대한 임상적 고찰

A Clinical Study on Suicide Attemptees in the Army

This study was designed to investigate the characteristic features of the suicidal attempt from the view points of socio-environmental factors and psychopathology thought to be contributing to the problems of suicide in the army. The subjects were those who attempted to suicide and were transferred to the 0 0 Armed Forces General Hospital, from the period of January 1,1985. To March 31,1987. The result may be summarized as follows; 1) Religious status revealed that 56.7% of the cases claimed to have affiliated with no religions where as 43.3% affiliated to various religions. 2) Among the attempters, 80% attempted to suicide within one year after the enlistment. 3) The suicidal attempt was the lowest in autumn and highest in the spring. 4) Drug ingestion was the most common mthod of the attempt(40%), and insecticides were the most common drugs(41.7%). 5) The most apparent dynamic motive of the suicides was guilty or inferiority feeling according to maladjustments in role performance. 6) Among the attempters, 43.3% belonged to the diagnostic category of personality disorders.
