만성정신분열증환자와 그 가족의 인간조직적합성항원(HLA)

HLA Antigens in C hronic Schizophrenic Patients and Their Family Members

From April of 1985 to October of 1986 in Taegu, Korea, we studied the frequencies of HLA antigens (A,B,C and DR) in 36 members from 7 families each of which had two or more schizophrenic siblings with family histories of one or more schizophrenic patients among their relatives. 13 of the 36 subjects studied, were chronic schizophrenic patients based on RDC. .Two of the subjects were psychotic patients, possibly schizophrenic, but not chronic. 21 other subjects were not overtly psychotic according to psychiatric interview. The HLA antigens of these subjects were compared with the HLADR antigens of 205 healthy Korean volunteers and with the HLA-A,B,C antigens of 196 healthy Korean volunteers. The results were as follows: 1) A2 A and DRg antigen frequencies were significantly increased in schizophrenic subjects, nonschizophrenic subjects and total subjects. Especially the frequency of DRg antigen showed the highest increase. 2) BS1 and B62 antigen frequencies were significantly increased in nonschizophrenic sujects and total subjects alike. 3) B39 antigen frequency was significantly increased in only schizophrenic subjects. 4) The Ci DRs haplotype was found in 15 (42%) of the 36 total subjects and in 8 (53%) among the 15 schizophrenic subjects. 5) The direction of transmission of C^DRg haplotype in chronic schizophrenic patients was consistent with their parental side in the 4 families with family histories of schizophrenia. Of the remaining 3 families, one family had a direction of transmission of DRg antigen consistent with their parental side in those with family histories of schizophrenia. The remaining two families were non-consistent
