Sulpiride와 Chlorpromazine의 만성 정신분열증에 대한 치료효과

Effects of Sulpiride and Chlorpromazine in Chronic Schizophrenia

The clinical effects of sulpride were compared with those of chlorpromazine on the chronic schizophrenia. The dosage of sulpiride was 1200mg/day and that of chlorpromazine was 300mg/day. The treatment period was 8 weeks after washout period. The clinical effect was evaluated by psychiatrists who were blind for the kind of drugs. The instruments for evaluation were BPRS, Hamilton’s depression scale, NOSIE, global assessment scale, positive symptom scale and negative symptom scale. The results showed that sulpiride had similar effects to chlorpromazine. Especially sulpiride had less sedating and more antidepressant effects, more effectiveness in negative symptoms and initiativeness. However, extrapyramidal symptoms were more with sulpiride, probably because of high dose. These findings suggest that sulpiride is an antipsychotic drug which can be used selectively.
