손글씨 쓰기는 원활한 작문활동을 위해 기본적으로 익혀 두어야 할 쓰기 기능이다. 이 연구의 목적은 쓰기 능력 발달에서 손글씨 쓰기의 중요성을 살펴보고 쓰기와 관련된 두뇌 작용에 대한 탐색을 통해 손글씨 쓰기 지도에 대한 함의점을 살펴보는 데 있다. 손글씨 쓰기는 학생들의 텍스트 생산 능력 특히 쓰기 유창성과 교과 학습의 성취에 중요한 역할을 한다. 손글씨 쓰기는 정자법에 대한 지식과 근육 운동 행위와의 통합을 필요로 한다. 이는 뇌의 좌측 전두엽 부분과 관련되며 이 부분이 제3의 쓰기 중추에 해당된다. 뇌의 활성화와 손글씨 쓰기 능력 향상을 위해 현시적인 쓰기지도와 반복적인 훈련이 필요하다.

Handwriting is basic skill for smooth composing. The aim of article is to examine the importance of handwriting and implicit on handwriting instruction through the brain operation concerning writing. The critical role handwriting plays in the achievement of academic study and the text generation ability-writing fluence. Handwriting needs to integrate orthorgraphic knowledge and motor perfomance. This is relevant to the left frontal lobe of brain and that is the third writing center. Explicit writing instruction and a repetitive training need to progress handwriting ability and make a brain actively.
