Recently, techniques of cognitive neuroscientific tools are drastically improved. We expect that accumulating results from the study of mathematics anxiety using the cognitive neuroscientific tools will help us explain mechanisms between students brain and their mathematics anxiety. Further, in the present study, we argue that cognitive neuroscientific approaches could make up for current research on mathematics anxiety. To measure students mathematics anxiety using cognitive neuroscientific tools provides various evidences revealing the tudents mathematics anxiety other than ones from the prevalent research methods such as survey, interview and observation. Our efforts to search ways to bring neuroscientific methods into the field of mathematics anxiety research would hopefully be the foundation, on which better educational programs for lessening students mathematics anxiety are designed.
