소통과 통합을 위한 한국어교육의 책무

Social Responsibility of KFL/KSL Research for Unity and Communication of Korean Society

이 연구에서는 학문 영역으로서 한국어교육학이 제시할 수 있는 사회적 역할론에 대하여 다루고자 하였다. 한국어는 대외적으로는 제2언어 또는 외국어로서 관심과 선택을 받는 언어 중 하나가 되었고, 대내적으로는 다양한 문화적 배경을 지닌 사용자를 서로 소통하게 하는 매개로서 그 역할을 담당한다. 이 연구에서는 한국어교육의 정체성과 사회적 역할론을 개념과 정의 측면에서 다루어 보고, 이어서 한국어교육이 한국 사회의 통합과 소통을 위해 기여할 수 있는 역할로서 언어문화 방면, 언어교육 방면, 학교․평생교육 방면의 세 가지 범주를 분류하여 제시해 보고 가능성을 살펴보았다.

The purpose of the study is to deal with the issues about the social roles and responsibilities of KFL/KSL research as an independent academic discipline. The Korean language has achieved the status of international language abroad and has served as primary media of communication among all social members from various cultural backgrounds in Korea. This study begins with the definition and identification of KFL/KSL research from social perspectives. Subsequently, three social responsibilities of KFL/KSL research (i.e., language culture,language education,and school and lifelong education policy) are suggested with its social as well as academic prospects discussed.
