Authors studied the relationship between schizophrenia and thyroid function by measuring serum T3 , T4, TSH with the method of radioimmunoassay. Subjects consisted of 18 schizophrenics who were treated at the Department of Neuropsychiatry of Seoul Paik Hospital from Jul. 1，1983 to Jun. 30, 1984. Controls were 25 healthy􀁻medical personnels of the same hospital. The results were as follows: 1. Mean Ts was found decreased in subjects when compared with that of controls (p < 0 .05). 2. For Mean T4 , no significant difference was found between two groups (p > 0 .05). 3. Mean TSH showed no difference between two groups (p > 0 .05).
