The authors compared the sociological factors and clinical suicide factors between 84 cases of committed suicides and 100 cases attempted suicides. Statistically significant factors are as follows: white-collar, college-educated, method of hanging or jumping, mental illness as the reason, notice before suicide, no suicidal note, previous attempts more than twice and diagnosis of schizophrenia or M .D .I. tended to be related with committed suicide. On the other hand, married state, blue-collar or housewife, elementary school or junior hig h school educated, method of drug intoxication, marital discord, love affair or financial crisis as the reason, no notice before attempt, m aking a suicidal note and diagnosis of depressive neurosis or hysterical neurosis tended to be related w ith attempted suicide.
