중년 여성 입원 환자에 대한 연구

A Study on Middle Aged Women Inpatients

A clinical aspects of middle aged women (30-55 years old), who were admitted at Korea General Hospital from January 1st 1977 to December 31th 1982 were studied. The results of the study was as follows; 1. Total women patient outnumbers male byratio of 1. 7 : 1. 2. There has been steady increment of women patient annually, whereas no signicant change was seen in men. 3. The most frequent age distribution was in the fourth decade in both sexes. 4. As to diagnostic aspect, somatoform disorder was most frequently found (21.696) in women, which indicates somatization tendency was higher in women than men. 5. Cases of neuroses were more than psychoses in women, whereas psychoses were more in men. 6. The mean duration of hospitlization were 20. 12 days for women and 23.21 for men. 7. Women cases admitted themselves more easily as they met emotional crisis, thus discharged sooner as crisis was over. 8. The frequent mental symotoms complained were anxiety (21.8%) irritabiilty (11.4% ) and suicidal ideation (10.0% ). In the somatic symptoms, headache (23.0% ),palpitation (21. 6%) and insomnia. (13.1%) were noted in descending order. 9. The frequent precipitating factors were identified as follows: trouble with spouse (37. A% ) , financial problems (13. 3% ) , conflict with a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law (11. 9% ).
