A Clinical Study of Organic Mental Disorder —Mainly the Anpect of Prognosis—

The author made survey of 597 in patients with organic mental disorder, m ainly on the aspect the prognosis, who had been admitted at the neuropsychiatric department of National Medical Center during the past 2 years from Jam. 1981 to Dec.1982. 1) Among all age group, age group of 20 years showed the best prognosis (84.0%) but age group above 50 years showed good prognosis in less than 50%. 2) Male had better prognosis (78. 1%) than female (52. 5% ). 3) The best prognosis (83. 0%) was noticed in organic affective syndrome and organic hallucinosis. 4) The best prognosis (82. 4%) was noticed in substance use disorder (alcohol, drugs) and in convulsive disorder (80. 9%) t in infection of C.N.S. (76. 5%) in successive order. 5) Better prognosis (78. \%) was noticed in a group of normal EEG findings than of abnormal findings (55. 396). 6) The prognosis was revealed worst in a group of poor premorbid adaptation
