편집성 정신분열증과 비편집성 정신분열증 환자의 Chlorpromazine 근육주사에 따른 혈청 Prolactin 값

Serum Prolactin before and after Chlorpromazine Injection in Paranoid and Nonparanoid Schizophrenic Disorders

For comparison of paranoid and nonparanoid types of schizophrenia, the authors measured serum prolactin value in both groups of schizophrenics before and after the intramuscular injection of chlorpromazine (25mg) by the radioim munoassay technique. The subjects were 16 paranoid and 7 nonparanoid schizophrenics whose diagnoses were made on the criteria of the Diagnostic and Stastistical Manual of Mental Disorders (D SM - III). The results were as follows： 1. Mean . serum prolactin value of the entire subjects was within normal range before the intram usbular injection of chlorpromazine. And there was no significant difference between paranoid and nonparanoid groups. 2. Follow nig the injection of 25mg chlorpromazine, serum prolactin values were found to be significantly increased in b oth groups. However, no significant difference was also found between the two groups. This study suggested that it would be difficult to distinguish paranoid type of schizophrenic disorder by measuring serum prolactin values.
