Two cases of hypomanic state induced by therapeutical dose of diazepam were reported for calling physicians’ attention danger. to it ’s possible The hypomanic symptoms appeared 2 or 3 days after initiation of diazepam medication (10 and 15 mg daily respectively), and disappeared one day after discontinuation of the drug by placebo switch. Remedication resulted in reappearance of the hypomanic symptoms. The symptoms were enough to disturb patients’ social life , so that discontinuation of the drug was inevitable.
