The blood types of 129 patients, diagnosed of Hysteria according to DSM- B , were classified and compared to those of 1,053 nonpsychiatric patients matched in age & sex, in an attempt to explore significant relasionship between hysteria and the ABO blood types. The results of this study were as follows; 1) The distribution of normal control group in ABO systen： A type-35.0% % B type-26.3% O type-26.4% AB type-12.3% 2) The distribution of hysteria in ABO system ： A type-32.6% B type-27.1% O type-27.9% AB type-12.4% 3) The hysteria group in relation to a certain blood group was not significant. (P < . 95) Ananalysis of the present study failed to support any existence of specific associations between hysteria and ABO blood types.
