拒逆退院에 관한 考察

STUDY OF DISCHARGE AGAINST MEDICAL ADVICE

The purpose of th is study is to evaluate some sociocultural factors of 63 inpatients which lead to discharge against m edical advice from psychiatric ward of Chun Nam University Hospital for 6 months from April 1st to September 30th 1979. Seventy discharged cases “by medical advice” during the same period w ere used as the control group. The results w ere following. 1. Sixty three inpatients (47.37%) were discharged “against advice” and 70 inpatients (52.63%) were discharged “by advice”. 2. No significant difference between two groups was proved in age and sex, occupationalstasus, Socioeconomic status, medical care insurance of the patients. 3. The difference of religions between the tw groups of patients and responsible persons for discharge was not obtained except Shaman which was prevalent in the group of discharhed against advice. 4. The mean hospital days were 20.00 ±17.87 days in the group discharged against advice and 31.57±25.27 days in the group discharged “by advice”. The difference between the two mean hospital days of both groups was significant. 5. The difference of educational status between the two patient groups was signifitcan and wich was also significant in responsible persons for discharge. 6. Eighty seven percent was admitted without patient himself decision to paychiatric admission. No difference was proved in the adviser of admission except wife discharged against advice. 7. The psychiatric O.P.D and Han bang cared patients were more frequently discharged by advice and sanatoria! experiences were more prevalant to be discharged against advice. 8. Rates of Successful follow up treatment were 53.97% in the group discharged against advice and 70% in the group discharged by advice but the differerence was not signfiicant
