The author studied a clinical survey of 51 cases of alcoholism and alcoholic psychosis who were hospitalized in department of neuropsychiatry, Yoido St. Mary’ s Hospital, Catholic Medical •College from May in 1975 to May in 1979. The results may be summarized as follows. 1. Anual trend of admission rate of alcoholic disorders increases by year. An admission rate of alcoholic mental disorders is 2.28% among psychiatric inpatients. 2. Age distribution of 51 cases of alcoholic mentaldisorders revealed to be heavily concentrated between the age of 40 and 49 (22 cases, 43.1%). 3. From the analysis of personal identifying datasf the author aware that hospitalized alcoholism and alcoholic psychosis live in middle socieconom ic-educational environments, work in white color labours. 4. In diagnostic classification of 51 cases of alcoholism and alcoholic psychosis, 58.8% of patients ware alcoholism s and 41.2% o f patients were alcoholic psychoses. 19 cases among 30 cases of alcoholism were alcohol addiction, 8 cases among 21 cases of alcoholic psychosis were delirium tremens. 5. Premorbid personality of alcoholic mental (33.3% ), were noticed to be passive-aggressive disorders antisocial (11.8 % ), and schizoid (9 .8 % ). 6. Their course and motive of hospitalization revealed that 72.5% of patients were admitted by way of O.P.D. And 80. A% of patients were admitted under the condition of other’s intention or compulsory means
