HALOPERIDOL이 白鼠腦의 ADENOSINE 3 ,5 -MONOPHOSPHATE. 含量에 미치는 影響에 關한 實驗的 硏究

THE EFFECT OF HALOPERIDOL ON THE CONTENT OF CYCLIC AMP IN RAT BRAINS

The experimental study was aimed to observe the effect of Haloperidol on cyclic AMP level of brains by injecting Haloperidol, 0 .05mg per kg of body weight, twice daily for 1 to 7 days via intraperitoneal route to Fischer albino male rats weighing 100-230gm. The experimental animals were divided into 4 groups: Group I consist of 11 rats injected with saline and sacrificed by decapitation into liquid nitrogen (freezing method-control group). Group II consist of 12 rats injected with Haloperidol and sacrificed by decapitation into liquid nitrogen (freezing method-Haloperidol group). Group III consist of 17 rats injected with saline and sacrificed by decapitation without freezing (nonfreezing methodcontrol group). And Group IV consist of 23 rats injected wilh Haloperidol and sacrificed by decapitation without freezing (nonfreezing method-Haloperidol group). The experimental animals were sacrificed one hour after the last injection and brain content of cyclic AMP was assayed by proteinbinding method of Gilman. The average value of cAMP in freezing methodcontrol group was 1.714 pmoles per mg of wet brain tissue, and there was about 4 fold increment: of postdeapitation cAMP level in nonfreezing method- control group compared with that in freezing method-control group. The average value of cAMP in nonfreezing group showed 71% decrease in Haloperidol groupcompared with that of control group. In freezing group there was 49% decrease in Haloperidol groupcompared with that of control group. In summary Haloperidol injection or rapid freezing; supresses the increment of brain cAMP level afterdecapitation
